CalderaSubmit (Sign, DTF, and DTG) - Presets

This article outlines how to create, configure, manage, duplicate, import, export, and delete presets in CalderaSubmit Sign, DTF, and DTG.

How presets work

Relationship between devices, presets, and media
  • A device can have multiple presets.
  • Each device has its own preset list.
  • Printer presets and spectrophotometer presets are different.
  • The media list is independent of the device and preset lists.
  • Each printer preset is associated with one media entry.

Create a preset

  1. Go to Settings > Devices & Presets.
  2. Select the device for which you want to create a preset.
  3. In the preset column, click +.
  4. Configure the preset.

Edit a preset

  1. Go to Settings > Devices & Presets.
  2. Select the device that contains the preset.
  3. Select the preset you want to edit.
  4. Configure the preset.

Configure a preset

Printer preset

Printer preset settings
  1. Create or edit a preset.
  2. Select the media to associate with the preset.
  3. Configure the Main settings.

      Info

Available settings depend on the printer model. For details about model-specific settings, refer to the relevant printer driver article.

  4. Optional: Configure White/Special Ink settings. These settings are available only with inksets that include white, varnish, or other special inks.
  5. Optional: Configure Print size compensation. This hardware-compensation setting applies horizontal and vertical scaling factors to the print size, from -50% to +50% in 0.01% increments.

      Good to know

Print size compensation can correct size differences caused by physical changes in the media, such as temperature, humidity, batch variations, or ageing.

  6. Optional: Set the Color bars ink quantity. This setting determines the ink percentage used for color bars.

      Info

Color bars display CMYK inks only. NColor and white inks are not shown in the color bar but are still generated and printed correctly.

  7. To calibrate the printer, click Start Calibration to open the Color Calibration wizard.
  8. Optional: Enter a description for the preset.
  9. Enter a name that makes the preset easy to identify in the list. You can also click the generate button to create a name automatically.
  10. Click Save.

Spectrophotometer preset

Spectrophotometer preset settings
  1. Create or edit a preset.
  2. Configure the Main settings.

      Info

Available settings depend on the spectrophotometer model. For details about model-specific settings, refer to the relevant spectrophotometer driver article.

  3. Enter a name that makes the preset easy to identify in the list. You can also click the generate button to create a name automatically.
  4. Click Save.

Find and sort presets

  • Search: Use the search bar to find a preset associated with the selected device by name.
  • Sort: Click the arrows to sort presets in ascending or descending order.

Duplicate a preset

  1. Go to Settings > Devices & Presets.
  2. Select the device that contains the preset.
  3. Hover over the preset, click the three vertical dots, then click Duplicate.

Import and export presets

Export presets to create backup files that you can later import into the software. Preset backup files use the TGZ format.

A printer-preset backup file includes the main printer settings and the associated media.

  • Export one preset: Hover over the preset, click the three vertical dots, then click Export.
  • Export several presets: Hover over a preset until its checkbox appears. Select the presets to export, then click Export. All selected presets are saved in one backup file.
  • Import a preset backup file: Click Import and select the backup file. For printer presets:
    • If the associated media does not already exist in the software, it is created automatically.
    • If an imported preset has the same name as an existing preset, it is renamed automatically to prevent the existing preset from being overwritten.

Delete a preset

  • Delete one preset: Hover over the preset, click the three vertical dots, then click Delete.
  • Delete several presets:
    1. Hover over a preset until its checkbox appears, then select it.
    2. Alternatively, click Select all above the list.
    3. Click the trash icon.
