For users of CalderaRIP V16.2 and later.
When adding Orange (or other N-Colors like Turquoise or Blue) to create a Custom Inkset while using SPC (ink penetration fluid) as Spot Ink, certain adjustments must be made in both in EasyMedia and ServerAdmin. Otherwise, the ink may be recognized as CMYK11 (with the first "1" indicating Orange or Blue) instead of CMYK12 (where "2" represents the SPC ink).
Considerations
- SPC stands for "Stylish Printing Control," a penetration ink developed by Dgen/DGI. This document explains why penetration fluid is used and provides practical examples of its application, such as for flags.
- This article uses the Teleios Grande H12 driver as an example, but it also applies to other models that support SPC ink.
- For more information, refer to the general documentation on Custom Inksets, which covers both topics on this article:
- How to create a process ink in EasyMedia
- And how to create and edit the default values of a Spot Ink tab in ServerAdmin
Create the Custom Inkset with a process ink
- Edit the EasyMedia settings.
- Open EasyMedia and double-click on the Printer icon.
- Double-click on the printer with which you want to use CustomInkset.
- Double-click on an existing project. If you do not have one yet, click on the "New..." button to create one.
- Once in the project, click on the "Edit Inksets..." button.
- In this case, we added Orange as a new Process ink:
- Create the Custom Inkset (e.g., CMYKO) as your production requires it:
Edit the Spot Ink default values
Edit the SPC Spot Ink in the ServerAdmin module.
- Go to the Settings tab and click on the ServerAdmin icon.
- When the Server Administration opens, select the driver and click on Configure.
- A new window will open. Go to the Special Inks tab.
- To ensure the SPC ink is recognized as "2," edit the SPC ink in the ServerAdmin:
- The first character of the name determines its recognition.
- For example, use "2SPC" to have it displayed correctly in the Special Inks tab:
