How to import an SQPE file to CalderaRIP?

When installing the swissQprint Karibu and Kudu drivers in CalderaRIP, you need to get your printer's resolutions from the SQPE configuration file, exported from the printer's Lory front-end interface.

This article will guide you through the necessary steps to import your SQPE file into CalderaRIP.

  Warning

Please note that it is not possible to print without importing the SQPE file. When using the "Nest" action, the job will remain on hold in the Spooler. When using the "Print" action, you will get a "driver error" message.

Export the SQPE file from the Lory Controller

Before proceeding with the file's importation process, you will have to export it by following these steps:

  1. On the Lory front-end interface, click on the Extras menu.
  2. Now, click on Export RIP configuration.

This will export a text file "RIPSettings.sqpe". You can change the name of your file to “swissQprint Karibu.sqpe“.

Import the SQPE file into CalderaRIP

Once you have exported the SQPE file from the Lory Controller to your computer, you must import it into CalderaRIP using the ServerAdmin module. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. After installing the swissQprint driver, go to the ServerAdmin.

  2. Select your printer, Kudu in this example, and click on Configure:

  5. In the file selection tab, select the SQPE file: “swissQprint Karibu.sqpe“ that you have exported and click on Load.

  6. Click on Proceed to validate.

  7. In the resolutions tab, you will find that the printer's resolutions have been uploaded:Kudu - Resolutions-.png
