Dimensions and Positioning

Besides being able to resize and position your image directly in the Studio, here you can enter specific values.

  • To maintain the image’s proportions, click the lock proportions button: link.svg
  • Use the   button, to reset the values if necessary.

  Good to know

To change the measuring unit in any field that displays one, simply right-click on it. The conversion gets done automatically.

In this Image module, you can also select the rotation of one or more images that you have selected in the Studio.

Alignments

Only on Caldera Direct-to-Garment RIP.

These options allow you to easily align images on the pallet, with two basic options: center (without image resizing) and center (with image expansion).

By opening “More alignments”, you will also see more alignment options without image resizing that can also be combined: left, center horizontal, right, top, center vertical, and bottom.

Flip

Only on Caldera Direct-to-Garment RIP.

Starting from V1.1.0, two new options have been added to the Image module, allowing you to flip images vertically or horizontally.

Color adjustments

This area allows you to boost the colors of each image used in the Studio, by modifying their luminosity, saturation, and hue.

Knockout

  Info

A knockout refers to the process of removing (or "knocking out") the underlying colors where an object or text will be placed, ensuring that the colors don't overlap.
This prevents the colors from mixing and preserves the true color of the top object or text. It's often used to avoid unwanted color blending when printing layered designs.

The Knockout options appear when one or more images are selected. To use it:

  1. Click on the eye dropper icon:   An orange frame will appear in the Studio, indicating “Knockout Preview”.
  2. Click on the color of the image(s) that you want to replace with transparency.
  3. If needed, use the tolerance slider which allows you to broaden the color range to remove.
  4. At the bottom, you can also choose to remove the color from all instances of the same color or only from the selected area.
  5. Once you are done, don't forget to click Confirm to apply the changes (or Cancel if you are not satisfied).

  Limitation

At the moment it is not possible to use the Knockout function in combination with the Spot Color module when working with PDF files.
