Dimensions and Positioning

You can resize and position images directly in Studio, or enter precise values in this module.

  • To preserve the image proportions, click the Lock proportions button.
  • Click the reset button to restore the original values, if needed.

  Good to know

To change the measurement unit in a field, right-click the unit. The value is converted automatically.

Rotation

You can also rotate one or more images (in DTF) selected in Studio.

Alignments

Available in Caldera Direct-to-Garment RIP.

Use these options to align images on the pallet:

  • Center: Centers the image without resizing it.
  • Center (expand to fit): Resizes the image to fit the available area, then centers it.

Click More alignments to access additional options that do not resize the image: left, horizontal center, right, top, vertical center, and bottom. You can combine horizontal and vertical alignment options.

Flip

Available in Caldera Direct-to-Garment RIP v1.1.0 and later.

Use these options to flip selected images horizontally or vertically.

Image Adjustments

Use the Image module to adjust luminosity, saturation, hue, opacity, and transparency for images in Studio.

Opacity and Transparency

Available in Caldera Direct-to-Film RIP v2.3 and later.

Use the Start Opacity and Stop Transparency sliders to adjust the alpha values of an image:

  • Pixels below Start Opacity become fully transparent.
  • Pixels above Stop Transparency become fully opaque.
  • Pixels between these values are adjusted proportionally.

This can correct inaccurate alpha channels and reduce artifacts, such as white halos.

Color Removal

  Info

In earlier versions, Color Removal was called Knockout.

Color Removal makes a selected color transparent. This is useful for removing a background color or preventing overlapping colors from mixing in layered designs.

The Color Removal options appear when one or more images (in DTF) are selected. To remove a color:

  1. An orange frame appears in Studio to indicate Color Removal Preview.
  2. Click the color you want to make transparent.
  3. If needed, adjust the tolerance slider to include a wider range of similar colors.
  4. Choose whether to remove the color from the Entire area or only from the Selected area.
  5. Click Confirm to apply the changes, or Cancel to discard them.

  Limitation

Color Removal cannot currently be used with the Spot Color module when working with PDF files.
