This article outlines how to create, configure, manage, import, export, and delete media in CalderaSubmit (Sign and DTF).
Manage media in Settings > Media and Formats.
How media and formats work
Media define the sheet or roll format, dimensions, and margins used for printing. Each printer preset is associated with a media entry:
- A media entry can be associated with one or more printer presets.
- Each printer preset is associated with one media entry.
- The media configuration defines the media type, manufacturer, format, dimensions, and margins.
- The available formats are Sheet and Roll.
Create a new media entry
- Go to Settings > Media and Formats.
- Click + to add a media entry.
- Configure the media entry.
Edit a media entry
- Go to Settings > Media and Formats.
- Hover over the media entry, click the three vertical dots, then click Edit. You can also select the media entry directly in the list.
- Configure the media entry.
Configure a media entry
- Create or edit a media entry.
- Select a media type from the list, or select New entry to add a new type.
- Enter the manufacturer.
- Select the format: Sheet or Roll.

Set the dimensions and margins.
Good to know
To change the measurement unit in a field, right-click the unit. The value is converted automatically.

Enter a name that makes the media easy to identify in the list. You can also click the generate button to create a name automatically.
Good to know
The generated name uses the following format: Type - Format - Width.
- Click Save.
Find and sort media
- Search: Use the search bar to find a media entry by name.
- Sort: Click the arrows to sort media entries by name in ascending or descending order.
Import and export media
Export media configurations to create backup files that you can later import into the software. Media backup files use the TGZ format.
- Export one media entry: Hover over the media entry, click the three vertical dots, then click Export.
- Export several media entries: Hover over a media entry until its checkbox appears. Select the media entries to export, then click Export. All selected entries are saved in one backup file.

Import a media backup file: Click Import, then select the backup file.
- If an imported media entry has the same name as an existing entry, it is renamed automatically to prevent the existing entry from being overwritten.
Delete a media entry
Warning
You cannot delete a media entry that is associated with a printer preset.
- Delete one media entry: Hover over the media entry, click the three vertical dots, then click Delete.

Delete several media entries:
- Hover over a media entry until its checkbox appears, then select it.
- Alternatively, click Select all above the list.
- Click the trash icon.
