OKI / Seiko ColorPainter H2-74S and H2-104S - Troubleshooting

Support for the OKI / Seiko ColorPainter H2-74S and H2104S printers may require printer log files to address printer-related issues.

To generate these log files, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Printer Settings ), then navigate to the CPManager tab and select Maintenance Log:

  2. This action will create a directory on the user’s Desktop. At the end of the process, a message will appear, indicating successful log generation:
    Screen_Shot_2019-12-13_at_11.51.29_AM.png
  3. The directory will contain files similar to those shown in the following screenshot:

  4. Compress this directory into a .zip, .tar, or .rar format and send it to OKI for analysis.

Considerations

  • Generating this data requires the driver to communicate with the printer. The screenshots shown before were generated in a station without a printer connected, so they do not contain useful data but still demonstrate the process.
  • If the log files do not populate, this may indicate a damaged printer or a delay in response.
  • For troubleshooting, you can generate log files as described. For low-level debugging in case of an issue, execute the following commands:

    touch /opt/caldera/lib/shared/cpmanager-debug

    touch /opt/caldera/lib/shared/cpmanager-debug-file

This will create files named /tmp/seiko_cpmanager_log* after restarting the driver or print client in the ServerAdmin.
