Other required accesses (and possible related errors)
-
"Cannot access cut queue" error message: When printing with the cut option configured on macOS, if you receive the message "Cannot access cut queue" related to your cutter queue directory, it indicates that the 'sh' executable is missing from the full disk access permissions.
- "Permission denied for folders" error message: After updating CalderaRIP on macOS, you may encounter a "Permission denied for folders" error message. This indicates that the software does not have the necessary permissions to access specific folders. You can resolve this issue by following the steps outlined in this article, which vary depending on your macOS version.
-
Ink Quantity Retrieval Issues: Epson and HP printer users may encounter difficulties retrieving ink quantity after upgrading to macOS Sequoia 15.1.1. This issue is caused by a known macOS bug that can restrict CalderaRIP's access to the local network following the OS update. If you are experiencing this problem, please verify that the "Local Network" access is still granted:
Good to know
After any significant change to your macOS system (e.g., a version upgrade, or intervention by your IT team), we recommend that you verify that the necessary permissions are still correctly granted.
Tips & tricks
Save time in case of contacting Support
Although is not mandatory, you can also grant full disk access to Caldera RIP and CalSpooler to prevent some pop-up messages and to save time in case your RIP has an unexpected behavior and you need to contact Support (they may need this access for testing). Just follow the next steps:
- CalderaRIP access: In the Full Disk Access menu, after clicking the + button then press ⌘+⇧+g (Command+shift+g) on your keyboard, type in /Applications/Caldera RIP and select Caldera RIP.
- CalSpooler access: In the Full Disk Access menu, after clicking the + button then press ⌘+⇧+g (Command+shift+g) on your keyboard, type in /opt/caldera/bin and select calspooler.
