How to use a QuickPrint to restore or preserve printer settings?

If after a CalderaRIP update or another potential change, your printer no longer prints with accurate colors, for example, it's possible that a printer setting changed.

This article explains how to re-open an older (known to be good) print job and then save the printer settings of that older job in QuickPrint so that they can be applied to new jobs.

Assuming that older print jobs are still present in the Spooler, the driver will open the print job and configure the printer driver with the settings used, even if the original file is no longer present (so ignore any errors on the original file no longer being present).

Step 1: Open the Spooler

Select the print job (if it's a job part of a nest just select one of the jobs of that nest) and select Reopen:

The printer driver will open with the settings used to print the old job. Now save it as a QuickPrint.

With the old job still present it will re-open with the original file in the printer driver as in the screenshot below:

With the print job no longer present, expect a message like the following:

But it will still open the printer driver, with the printer settings used to print this job:

The next step is to save the settings using the QuickPrint option:

Now the old jobs settings can be selected as a QuickPrint:
