Troubleshooting

Applicable for users of the Ricoh-L5160 driver from version 13.1

Before using this driver, several steps must be completed:

  1. Set the Printer Port: In the ServerAdmin for the printer, configure the port to 52026. Ensure the printer's IP address is also set correctly.
  2. Terminal Commands:
    • For Linux:
      • Open a terminal and log in as root using sudo -s.
      • Create a symbolic link by typing:

        ln -s /opt/caldera/lib/RIJP/Linux/RIJPLibrary/IJRenderingPath /usr/lib/IJRenderingPath

      • Next, edit the file using:

        pluma /opt/caldera/lib/RIJP/Linux/RIJPLibrary/IJRenderingPath

      • Add the following path inside the file:

        /opt/caldera/lib/RIJP/Linux/RIJPLibrary

      • Save the file and close Pluma.
    • For macOS:
      • Open a terminal and enter the following command:

        ln -s /opt/caldera/lib/RIJP/Darwin/RIJPLibrary/IJRenderingPath /usr/lib/IJRenderingPath

      • To edit the file, type:

        vim /opt/caldera/lib/RIJP/Darwin/RIJPLibrary/IJRenderingPath

      • Press the “i” key to enter insert mode, and add the following path inside the file:

        /opt/caldera/lib/RIJP/Darwin/RIJPLibrary

      • After making your edits, press the “Esc” key to exit insert mode. To save and exit, type :wq and press Enter.
  3. Restarting the Driver:
    • If the driver was running, navigate to Settings > ServerAdmin, select the printer, and click the "Stop Server" button. You can then relaunch the driver to print.
    • If the driver was not running previously, simply start the driver to begin printing.
