Driver history

  • CalderaRIP V19.0.2:
    • "W" Drivers, Revision A: Resolved a regression introduced in version 19 that caused the "RIP then Print" action to fail with multilayer jobs. The action now works as expected.
  • CalderaRIP V18.2:
    • A new option, "Display White Printhead Warnings," is now available under Printer Settings    > Printer tab. When enabled, the printer driver will display two distinct messages based on your production:
      • For jobs with white ink, the driver will prompt you to unload the white ink printhead from the storage system, and install it following the instructions on the printer's control panel.

          Warning

If you don't install the white printhead, printing will continue without interruption; however, the controller will register an error.

For more information on handling white inks in these printers, please refer to the HP documentation (starting on page 202).

      • For jobs without white ink, the driver will recommend placing the white ink printhead in the storage system to extend its life.
  • CalderaRIP V18.1:
    • Only 700-W and 800-W: Fixed issues related to abortion and errors when printing multi-layer jobs. Previously, if an error occurred during the printing process, the software could lock and repeatedly display the error message "unable to request slave raster data!" for subsequent jobs. A driver restart was necessary to resume printing.
    • Resolved ICC profile override issue during a “Missing preset-only synchronization”. In earlier versions, the local ICC profile was incorrectly replaced by the printer's ICC profile during this process.
  • CalderaRIP V18.0:
    • Revision A. For macOS users: Fixed driver initialization, which was failing due to missing dependencies.
  • CalderaRIP V17.3
    • Fixed a bug that did not allow printing multiple copies of multipage PDF files (only the first page was printed).
  • CalderaRIP V17.2:
    • Revision A: Fixed an EasyMedia synchronization issue on macOS Ventura and Sonoma, which caused the module to get stuck in the synchronization process:
  • CalderaRIP V17.1:
    • Revision A: Fixed an EasyMedia synchronization issue on macOS Ventura and Sonoma, which caused the module to get stuck in the synchronization process.
    • With the support of SNMP V2 / IPV4, it is now possible to use the "Auto-detection" feature with these drivers (available in the connection tab of the ServerAdmin module).
    • Printer discovery is now using SNMP V2 / IPV4 (in addition to Bonjour) to search for network devices.
  • CalderaRIP V17.0.2:
    • Revision A: Updated the drivers to include the latest SDK (Software Development Kit) from HP, which fixes several bugs and a major driver crash when querying the printer.

  • CalderaRIP V16.3.1 (04/2024):
    • Revision A: Fix for quality mismatches when updating the media or printer quality base.

  • CalderaRIP V16.3 (09/2023):
    • Fixed an XML parsing error when the printer does not have any alerts.
    • "W" Driver: Fixed the AutoNest margins that caused the nest to exceed the media size.

  • CalderaRIP V16 (10/2022):
    • Sandwich mode printing: The drivers can now detect incompatible configurations between the A/B sides and display a related error message.

  • CalderaRIP V15 (11/2021):
    • Revision A: Fixed wrong media compensation calculation that sent jobs directly to the error queue if the media size was on the job size limit.

  • CalderaRIP V14.1:
    • Revision C (11/2021): Fixed wrong media compensation calculation that sent jobs directly to the error queue if the media size was on the job size limit.
    • Revision A (04/2021): Communication problems solved (printer secured by admin password) + job accounting not retrieved on some systems + light cyan and light magenta color bars added + white color bar added (update of the build necessary).
