The following information applies to various HP Latex, DesignJet, and PageWide models. Please refer to your printer's specific documentation for details on compatibility.
Recent HP printers have a special profile installation procedure due to the printer's controller-embedded profiles. The AutoSync feature allows you to import, download, delete, or copy ICC profiles from the printer. This feature is available in EasyMedia*.
*EasyMedia is named ProfileExpert in the TextilePro interface.
Warning
The IP address has to be set before launching EasyMedia. If not an error pop-up will appear.
Limitations
- EasyMedia can rename media only locally.
- In EasyMedia, you can retrieve the list of media available on the printer, but you can't create new media. This must be done on the printer panel.
- Hardware parameters like tension, temperature, etc... can't be set from CalderaRIP.
Automatic synchronization: AutoSync
Here is the procedure to synchronize all profiles from the printer.
1. In the Application tab, click on the EasyMedia icon.
2. Then double-click on the printer icon or select it and click on Next.
3. Select your printer in the list and click on Next or directly double-click on the printer line.
4. Then click on the Import button.
5. Then click on AutoSync.
AutoSync automatically adds all profiles that are stored on the printer. You have 2 choices:
- Missing presets only: load only profiles that are not in EasyMedia yet.
-
Full reset: load all printer profiles.
Warning
Be careful, Full reset will erase your present customized profiles.
Install Patch opens the File selection window. Browse to find your media patch (.calpatch file format). More info

7. Then you can see the media has been added to the list with 0 Projects. Open the media project: select the media in the list then click Next (or directly double-click on the line).
Configure media project parameters
8. Click on New, like if you want to start a new project.
9. Select the proper mode, resolution, and quality you want. Then click on OK.

Import profile
11. Go to the Profiling tab.
12. Choose Loading/Import an existing file in the procedure to use. Then click on Next.
13. Click on the Download ICC from the printer button. It will automatically get the proper ICC file from the printer. Click on Next to actually load the profile and display it.
Save media project
14. Go back to the Status tab and click Save Project.
15. Then you are asked if you want to copy the ICC profile on the printer. It is used only for profiles created with EasyMedia, not for synchronization. Be careful, it will replace the ICC profile.
- Copy ICC to the printer: This allows you to upload the ICC profile to the printer (for the given media and quality).
- Delete ICC from the printer: This allows you to remove the ICC from the printer (for the given media and quality).
16. The project is complete, you can use the profile for printing. Redo the operation for every profile you want to synchronize.
