How to synchronize profiles from my HP printer?

The following information applies to various HP Latex, DesignJet, and PageWide models. Please refer to your printer's specific documentation for details on compatibility.

Recent HP printers have a special profile installation procedure due to the printer's controller-embedded profiles. The AutoSync feature allows you to import, download, delete, or copy ICC profiles from the printer. This feature is available in EasyMedia*.

*EasyMedia is named ProfileExpert in the TextilePro interface.

  Warning

The IP address has to be set before launching EasyMedia. If not an error pop-up will appear.

Limitations

  • EasyMedia can rename media only locally.
  • In EasyMedia, you can retrieve the list of media available on the printer, but you can't create new media. This must be done on the printer panel.
  • Hardware parameters like tension, temperature, etc... can't be set from CalderaRIP.

Automatic synchronization: AutoSync

Here is the procedure to synchronize all profiles from the printer.

1. In the Application tab, click on the EasyMedia icon.

2. Then double-click on the printer icon or select it and click on Next.

AutoSync automatically adds all profiles that are stored on the printer. You have 2 choices:

  • Missing presets only: load only profiles that are not in EasyMedia yet.
  • Full reset: load all printer profiles.

      Warning

Be careful, Full reset will erase your present customized profiles.

15. Then you are asked if you want to copy the ICC profile on the printer. It is used only for profiles created with EasyMedia, not for synchronization. Be careful, it will replace the ICC profile.

  • Copy ICC to the printer: This allows you to upload the ICC profile to the printer (for the given media and quality).
  • Delete ICC from the printer: This allows you to remove the ICC from the printer (for the given media and quality).

16. The project is complete, you can use the profile for printing. Redo the operation for every profile you want to synchronize.
