Suggested color settings for North American users

To ensure optimal color management in your design applications, follow these recommended settings for both CalderaRIP and Adobe Creative Suite.

 

Settings in CalderaRIP

  1. Open CalderaRIP.
  2. In the ApplicationBar, open the Configuration or Special menu (users of V17 or before).
  3. Select Color.
  4. In the Color Management tab, set the following values:

Settings in Adobe Creative Suite

To apply the same color management settings in Adobe Creative Suite, follow these steps:

  1. Download the Color Settings File:

    • Extract the contents of the zip file.
  2. Copy the Color Settings File:
    • Copy the file "GRACOL2013-C1 (CGATS21-2 CRPC6).csf".
    • Paste it in the following location:
      • macOS: Users/[Username]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Color Settings
      • Windows: Documents and Settings/[Username]/Application Data/Adobe/Color/Settings
  3. Launch Your Design Application:
    • Open Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign.
    • With your document open, go to the Edit menu.
    • Click on Color Settings.
    • Select the "GRACOL2013-C1 (CGATS21-2 CRPC6)" setting:

Considerations

  • The color management settings apply to composite RGB and CMYK colors, but not to spot colors.
  • For PDF/X-4 settings, it is recommended to support both RGB and CMYK color spaces.
  • For custom spot color mapping, use PDF format, as older file formats like EPS and PS have limitations.
