Graphtec FC8000 Configuration

In version 9.10 or newer the VisualCut interface has changed. The settings remain the same.

Setup on the Graphtec Cutter:

MENU > TOOL > CONDITION PRIORITY > PROGRAM (on the FC7000 this option is under MENU > BACKGROUND SETTINGS > CONDITION PRIORITY > PROGRAM)
 
MENU > INTERFACE > STEP SIZE > 0.01mm or 2540 steps per inch
 
MENU  > INTERFACE > COMMAND > GPGL

US to Metric conversion (Cut steps):
254 steps/inch = 0.1 mm
508 steps/inch=0.05 mm
1016 steps/inch = 0.025 mm
2540 steps/inch= 0.01 mm

Some common errors:

Connection Failed, Cutter will only connect when there's material loaded on the cutter.
Send Data error.

Rip lost connection so click on the Detect Cutter button to re-scan USB bus.
Wrong positioned pinch roller(s) can cause mark scan errors.

Ethernet is supported starting with Caldera version 9.10 or higher and requires at least firmware 2.90 on the cutter.

Also in the VisualCut connection section change USB to RawIP and enter in the Host field the cutters IP address.

It might be that the Graphtec max size that it can cut is set too low. (Usually accompanied by 'Marks not detected')

On the Graphtec cutter panel change max page length, by default its 200cm  Menu > Media > Page Length. Check the Graphtec FC8000 manual for more details>
