From CalderaRIP version 10.2 and newer, perforated cutting is supported when using the VisualCut Interface with Roland GX and GS24 devices. However, there are some limitations.
Limitations
- Perforated cuts are generated using HPGL dashed line instructions.
- Because of this method, the cutter only supports full blade up or full blade down movements, and half‑pressure cuts are not available.
Dash Parameters
- Custom Dash Up: Length of the uncut section between perforations (0–2 mm).
- Custom Dash Down: Length of the perforated cut (0–18 mm).
- Dash Force: Disabled (greyed out) because half‑cut pressure is not supported in this mode.
CalderaRIP Tool Settings Ignored
In some cases the cutter may ignore the tool settings sent from the RIP (force, speed, dash values, etc.).
If this happens, verify that the corresponding tool settings options on the cutter itself are enabled. If they are disabled, the cutter will override and ignore the parameters coming from CalderaRIP:
