Good practices and calibration for HP Print and Cut

HP Print and Cut users may sometimes experience difficulty detecting barcodes when using certain media.

To address this, we have compiled best practices and instructions for using the HP Latex cutter calibration chart to enhance cutting accuracy and efficiency:

  1. Load the substrate correctly: Ensure the substrate is loaded straight and securely in the printer to prevent misalignment during cutting.
  2. Use the correct knife type: Select the appropriate knife type for your specific material to achieve clean and accurate cuts.
  3. Calibrate the cutter: Regularly calibrate the cutter to maintain cutting precision by following these steps:
    • Download the calibration plot and print it on the media you want to calibrate.
    • Insert the plot into the cutter.
    • On the cutter's front panel, navigate to System Setup, then Calibrations, then Cal Media, and finally Measure.
    • Follow the instructions on the cutter panel to scan the colored squares on the plot. The cutter will then be calibrated for use with the specific media.
  4. Find the correct cutting settings: Adjust the cutting settings based on the material being used. Refer to the material specifications to determine the optimal settings.
  5. Other tips to improve cutting accuracy: For additional recommendations and best practices, please consult HP’s documentation directly.
