Summa - Autocut for OPOS CAM

Caldera supports the OPOS CAM feature, but not directly. You will need a Windows PC with the OPOS CAM software and you need to configure VisualCut in CalderaRIP to be operational. CalderaRIP doesn't drive the cutter directly via USB or LAN connection.

Here is an example of the Windows-based OPOS CAM Summa software (Summa Cutter Control):

Configuration in VisualCut

  1. In the Connection area, set the parameters as following:
    • Type: File
    • Host: path of the shared folder on the OPOS CAM controller

      Warning

The Path field for Caldera cut files needs to be locally mapped and should NOT be the same as path set in the Host field.

    • Path: map to local
    • Host: map to the shared folder with the OPOS CAM controller
  2. In the Settings area, supported Positionings are:

    • Single with marks
    • None

  3. When Cut using VisualCut, Caldera will generate 2 .dmp cut files required by the OPOS CAM:

    • one with 0 degrees rotation
    • and another one with 180 degrees rotation

Autocut

This feature allows to automatically generate .dmp cut files for OPOS CAM in the folder defined in the Host field. Every time the jobs queue is polled, jobs that haven't been cut yet will be processed. So newly printed jobs will eventually be processed without manual intervention on VisualCut.

You can reset the number of already done copies by pushing Reset copies. This will allow to regenerate a lost .dmp file as well, since only jobs with a number of already done copies of 0 are processed.
