Good to know

- Double-sided printing
- Contour Shape Step and Repeat
- Textile Step and Repeat
- Document alignment to the right
-

- (Optional) You can also enable the addition of color and/or white under marks (further information below).
Color and/or white under marks after V17.2
Exclusive feature for CalderaCare subscribers.
As of V17.2, trimmer mark detection on non-white materials has been improved, with a new set of options to add color and/or white under the marks:
Info
A White ink channel must be enabled to print White ink on backgrounds. In this sense, Caldera recommends you check the "Generate even if empty" option at the bottom of the channel's tab. If no specific selection is done, the method can be set to a spot color. More information.
Marks background (Methods)
- None: No background addition
- Color: Only color inks will be used
- Color + White: Color inks and White are used
- Only White: Only White ink is used
Color (color selector)
This option is used to select a specific color if using Color or Color + White modes.
Please note this color will pass through ICC, so there is no special selection of inks (such as Orange or Violet).
White density
This is the density of the White plane if Color + White or Only White is selected.
Please note this will pass through linearization of the White, if any, so the ink density may be different.
Left White margin / Top White margin
These parameters are available only for some cutters, depending on their capabilities. The margins are useful to add additional space at the left or top edge with the background to ease detection.
Limitations
- For Fotoba ASP users: Vertical marks are currently not compatible with Color and/or White Under Marks, in this sense, the settings will only work with horizontal marks. Other Fotoba trimmers are not affected by this limitation.
- Same as for cutter marks, the color and/or white under marks settings are not compatible with some of the White layering methods (Full page coverage).
- When there is a gap between jobs on a roll, it is possible to have spaces outside the printing area not covered by the white ink. To avoid this issue, and if your printer allows it, we advise you to use the Banner mode (no margins between jobs).
