GrandCut is a cutting module that efficiently manages cut contours, cutting marks, and positioning marks to enhance accuracy and reduce media waste on flatbed cutters with controllers.
It streamlines print-to-cut workflows in print shops using multiple cutting devices and is compatible with all major industry cutting devices and controllers, generating machine-specific files for optimal cutting precision.

GrandCut is recommended for larger flatbed cutters, while VisualCut is suggested for roll cutters. Please check the compatibility of your peripheral here.
The following steps will guide you in adding your cutter to CalderaRIP, if you haven't done so already. This operation only needs to be performed once, and the installation will apply to all printers.

- Launch CalderaRIP.
- In the ApplicationBar, double-click on your printer. Then, load an image.
Or drag and drop an image from the ImageBar to your printer, so that the Print module opens with an image already loaded.
- Open the Page Setup window:
- Go to the Cutting tab and click on "Enable cutting contour":
- Click on the Add button ( ). The Cutters configuration will open:
- Now, click on New... to open the Cutters parameters. Complete the pop-up form as illustrated:
- Name: Choose a cutter name (this is how it will appear in the cutter list).
- Model: Select your cutter driver based on your cutter model.

Queue: Choose a directory where your cutting files will be saved.

We recommend that you use a folder shared with your cutter controller, so you will not have to copy the cut files on the controller workstation.
- Hostname: Used for Zünd Cut Center devices only.
- Click on OK to save.
- The new cutter you created should appear in the Cutters configuration window.

The New and Edit… buttons open the Cutter parameters window, while the Delete button removes the cutter from the list.
- Select it and click OK again.
- To configure margins, marks, and other advanced features, go to Cutter Tools Configuration.
