How to add a flatbed cutter to CalderaRIP

This article explains how to add and configure a flatbed cutter in CalderaRIP. Once configured, the cutter can be used with all printers in your CalderaRIP installation to generate cutting files and manage cut contours, cutting marks, and positioning marks.

Considerations

• This article applies to flatbed cutter workflows, which are typically used for sheet and rigid-media applications.
• Before proceeding, verify that your device is supported in the list of supported devices.
• You only need to perform this configuration once; the cutter will then be available throughout your CalderaRIP installation. 

Process

1. Launch CalderaRIP.
2. In the ApplicationBar, double-click your printer and load an image:
   
   Alternatively, drag an image from the ImageBar onto the printer to open the Print module with the image loaded.
    
3. Open the Page Setup window:
   
    
4. Go to the Cutting tab and select Enable cutting contour:
   
    
5. Click Add (+). The Cutters configuration window opens:
   
6. Click New... to open the Cutter parameters, then complete the fields as follows:
   
   • Name: Enter a name for the cutter. This is the name that appears in the cutter list.
   • Model: Select the driver that corresponds to your cutter model.

   • Queue: Select the folder where CalderaRIP will save cutting files.

       Info

     We recommend using a folder shared with the cutter controller. This avoids having to manually copy cutting files to the controller workstation.

   • Hostname: This field is used only for Zünd Cut Center devices.
7. Click OK to save the cutter.

8. Confirm that the new cutter appears in the Cutters configuration window.

     Info

   New and Edit… open the Cutter parameters window. Delete removes the selected cutter from the list.
