OPOS: Optical POsitioning System
OPOS X
The OPOS X is a standard feature on all Summa models. Marks along the lateral edges are detected, but nothing in the front and back edges.
OPOS XY
The cutter will detect a line at the front of the print job to compensate for deformation and adjust curvature: the so-called "banana effect".
OPOS XY2
Warning
This feature is only available for Summa S2 with up-to-date firmware, S One series cutters and Summa S3 cutters.
The cutter will detect horizontal lines at the front and at the rear of the print job, instead of a line only at the front for OPOS XY.
This needs to be activated on VisualCut in CalderaRIP to allow the cutter to compensate.
OPOS Xtra
Warning
This feature is only available for Summa S2 with up-to-date firmware and S One series cutters. Summa S3 cutters are also compatible.
This feature is usable only with Summa OPOS Xtra driver, by enabling the OPOS Xtra Trimmer in the Marks tab in the Page Setup window.
OPOS Xtra is an option of the latest-generation Summa. The cutter will detect several lines all along the print job, increasing the accuracy and alignment for small shapes cutting. Mainly this will allow a better correction of the so-called "banana effect".
