FlexCut principle is a perforated cut:

FlexCut Mode 2 is the Summa recommended mode used for the majority of cut jobs.

FlexCut Mode parameters like:

  • Full pressure (Force)
  • Full pressure cut length
  • Flex pressure cut length
  • Flex cut pressure (Dash Force)

can be set on the cutter or in CalderaRIP (see Summa manual for details). The Cutting length and Flex length can be configured in CalderaRIP when defining the Tool type and selecting the Line type

Line type "User Specified" uses the cut/up parameters set on the cutters panel.

  Info

Disable Force and Dash Force in CalderaRIP when setting the Full Pressure and Flex cut pressure on the cutter.

Recommendations

Original file

The original file must be created with a cut contour for each specific tool "Flexcut", KissCut", etc.

Tool configuration

  • In CalderaRIP don't forget to assign the correct tool type to the specific FlexCut cutcontour.

  • FlexCut tools must always be at the bottom of the tools list.

Multiple Flex tools

When multiple Flex tools are configured, be aware that the Flex pressure setting of the first Flex tool is being used. Work around is to define a media specific tool set and save.

Other pressure and speed settings are not affected by this limitation.

Panelling

Activate the paneling option to avoid up and down feeding of the cut sheet.

  Info

This option is available with the following drivers:

  • Summa S2 (panelling)
  • Summa S2 Postnet (panelling)
  • Summa S3 Postnet
  • Summa OPOS Xtra driver
  • HP Latex Cutter
  • HP Latex Plus
  • HP Latex Plus OPOS Xtra

Older Summa and Summa Postnet drivers don't support this feature.
