What is CostView? [DEPRECATED]

  Caution

Starting with CalderaRIP V16.3 and CalderaDock V3.0, the CostView web module interface was deprecated. Also with these versions, the CostEstimation option (CostView + CostProof) was retired.
CostProof alone was kept on CalderaRIP's Spooler and, in the near future, other new tools for cost and ink consumption management will be available.

CostView helped to improve your margins. CostView allowed you to have an overview of all your costs after you print.

Within the simple Web browser interface, production managers could view jobs in the print or cut Spooler in real-time, monitor ink and media usage and costs, plus add additional costs automatically.

With CostView you could verify how many square meters have been printed on a selected printer and check the ink and media consumption for a selected job.

CostView overview

CostView overview is cut into three parts:

  • Header. There are two tabs, you can choose between the Jobs and the Admin part of the software. Here, you also find the Update jobs button that is used to import jobs into the database.
  • Main window. The content changes depending on the tab and other parameters. This is the part that is described in the rest of this document.
  • About CostView. This link allows you to open the About CostView pop-up.

About CostView

"About CostView" is a link that is constantly displayed. It is under the main window.

When you click on it, a pop-up shows up.

You can:

  • See the legal information.
  • Click on the Caldera website link to open it.
  • Download this manual in English (EN), Spanish (ES), French (FR) and Japanese (JP).

Spooler and job update

If you remove your jobs from the Spooler before updating them in CostView, they will be lost.

Be careful to update CostView first then delete the jobs from the Spooler.
