Adobe's advanced blending mode utilizes an appearance-based model that simulates the mixing of inks as it would occur in traditional printing.
In this sense, the Advanced Spot Blending feature enhances how the integration of Adobe PDF Print Engine in CalderaRIP handles spot colors and applies to the following scenarios:
- When two or more spot colors are mixed (e.g., overlaying gradients).
- When spot colors interact with transparency.
- When spot colors interact with overprinting.
Info
Despite its benefits, this option is disabled by default because it can introduce disruptions or artifacts in certain situations, such as with parallel shadows or shading, especially when using Perceptual rendering. If you decide to enable this option, it is recommended to switch to Colorimetric rendering.
For custom spot color mapping, use the PDF format. Older file formats like EPS and PS have limitations.
