The printer settings (known as QuickPrints) can be saved and exported as a backup or can be imported to another RIP station. These QuickPrint settings are often used with the HotFolder and/or WorkFlow automation.
Step 1: Save the settings
- Open CalderaRIP.
- Open the Print Module of any of your printers and configure it.
- If this is the first time you are using QuickPrints, you will see a field at the bottom called ”Default configuration". To save the settings, click on the Save button ( ) > Name the configuration as you require > Then, click OK:
Step 2: Export the settings
- Click on the Ellipsis button ( ).
- Select the configuration previously saved, and click on the Export button.
- A file explorer will open. Select the location where you want to save the .xml file, for it to be imported into another RIP (or just archived). Change the name if needed, and click on Save.
Good to know
In version 17, the software included a feature to automatically create a name for the exported files as follows:
- Export_Printer_Preset_Date and hour (only one preset selected)
- Export_Printer_Date and hour (multiple presets selected)
This feature was exclusive to CalderaCare subscribers until version 18 when it became available to all users.
