- If your Resolution, Media, Mode (except Gray), and Quality options are in Red.
- Quality drop down only says "Default".
- You might also get a message about rebuilding your profiles.
This usually happens due to a profile mismatch between the media profile and the printer.
First check if you have the complete profile in EasyMedia. If yes, try one of the following methods in an attempt to resolve the quality issue:
Method 1:
Go to Settings -> ServerAdmin -> select the problematic printer -> Configure -> Misc -> Driver reset:
Method 2:
Should you get any error messages during method 1 about not being able to delete certain files, try method 2.
1) Stop the printer driver in Caldera by going to Settings -> Server Admin -> select the printer -> Stop Server (the password is caldera)
2) Turn off the printer.
3) Open Terminal. Now copy the following command and paste it into the terminal:
rm /opt/caldera/lib/shared/HP-* Designjet-* 2>/dev/null
Please rather copy the above command and then paste it into terminal, instead of trying to type it in terminal.
4) Turn printer on and wait till printer is ready again.
5) Now double click the printer driver in Caldera. It will initialize and it usually takes a little bit of time (it's getting new configuration files from the printer controller). You might get a "Server configuration has changed" message. Re-open the printer driver (to load the new configuration files).
