IPS on Windows: Issue with large ripped files or incomplete jobs

Symptom

Large jobs sent to the IPS share are incomplete. Ripping to a local folder functions correctly.

Problem

The IPS controller software on Windows 7 struggles with large files, particularly in Mac-based CalderaRIP installations.

Solution

To resolve this issue, modify the registry settings on the IPS:

1. Open regedit.
2. Set the following registry key to "1":
   HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\LargeSystemCache
3. Set the following registry key to "3":
   HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Parameters\Size

Considerations

This issue may affect different printer brands utilizing Windows 7-based controllers, such as HP Latex 3000, LX Series, L65500, and SwissQprint.

The Reggiani Renoir typically allows the submission of one file before encountering a mount error (121) or I/O errors when attempting to mount the share.
