Double-sided printing - Automatic mode

Automatic mode can be used to print the same image on Sides A and B.

  1. Open CalderaRIP.

  2. In the ApplicationBar, double-click on your printer. Then, load an image.

Or drag and drop an image from the ImageBar to your printer, so that the Print module opens with an image already loaded:

  3. Set your printing configuration.

      Info

Color profiles are selected automatically. If the combination of settings you have selected does not have a profile, the options will be displayed in red. Learn more.

  4. Open the Page Setup window:

  5. Enable the Double-sided Printing feature and use the Plus/Cross button ) to display all available options:

  6. Select Side A and check the Automatic Side B option, which generates automatically a Side B that will be sent to the printer (ripped or printed) after Side A (on flatbed printers):

On roll printers, Side B will be put on Hold in the Spooler (until you manually send it to print). Learn more.

  7. (Optional) The automatic Side B can be generated with different image positioning options. Combine them as you wish:
Image position Side A Side B
    Rotation
    Mirror
    Aligned right
    Rotation + Mirror
    Mirror + Align right

  8. (Optional) To apply the same Action to both sides (e.g., Print, Rip, or Rip then Print), check the box Same action for sides A and B.
    • If this option is not checked, Side B will only be Ripped by default (useful for most Grand drivers).
    • For other drivers that do not support the action RIP, Side B is printed by default.

  9. (Optional) When using the Align Right feature, you can check the Even margins for the align right option, to apply the Side A margin to Side B.
For instance, if Side A has a left margin, the same margin will be applied to the right of Side B. This is especially useful for aligning color bars:

  10. (Optional) Select other options in the Marks, S&R, Cutting, Colors, or White tabs
The available combinations are explained in this article covering how this feature works with other software functions.

      Warning
