Mimaki UJV55-320 - Printer Settings

Printer tab

  • Refresh level: Determines the frequency of head quick cleanings during print, allowing you to choose from Low, Normal, High, and Very High.
  • Layer configuration (6C driver): Sets the printing layers related to multilayer possibilities and White ink usage. Available configurations include Color, White, White over Color, Color over White, and Color-White-Color.

      Info

If you select a configuration that uses White ink, you must also activate and set the White ink separation in the White tab of the Print Module > Page Setup:

  • Duplicate job on two rolls: Allows you to print the same job on a second roll simultaneously. Please keep the following in mind when using this option:
    • Both rolls must be the same size and media type.
    • The detected sizes are displayed in the Status tab, indicating the printable widths reported by the device (the non-printable margin is not included).
    • Ensure that the job size does not exceed the smallest detected width, or the print will fail.

Media tab

  • Information: at the top of the window, you are able to see information about your media. There you have access to two actions:
    • Save: when you click on this button, the current media settings are saved to the selected media profile (printer, media, resolution, mode) so there will be applied for any new job using the same print configuration. If you don't save, the changes you made are only applied to the current job.
    • Reload: will revert back to default as set during profiling or the last saved changes.
  • Horizontal compensation (%): we recommend not to modify this. Any deviation is likely to be mechanical on the printer's side.
  • Vertical compensation (%): this can be useful if you detect an increase or decrease in the length due to heating or media tension which is common when printing on vinyl or textiles for example. To calculate the compensation, click Compute and follow the software’s instructions.
  • Dot type: Allows you to select either a variable dot size (Automatic) or any fixed dot size (Large, Medium or Small).
  • Overprint: Multiplies the amount of ink by the selected factor. Type the number wanted (between 1 and 9) or use the + and - buttons.
  • Absorption fan: Here, you can select one of the following option to set the absorption strength: Weak, Standard or Strong.
  • Heating system: You can adjust the temperature of Print (in Celsius degrees) by clicking inside the thermometer.
  • UV level adjustment (%): Slightly adjusts UV curing power. By setting a negative value, UV levels will be decreased, and setting a positive value will increase UV levels.
  • Feed adjust: You can enable or disable this function by checking or uncheking the box. Type the number wanted or use the + and - buttons.

Status tab

  • Status: global state of the printer:
    • Ready
    • Not available
    • Printing

All data is coming from the printer, if it is not available, nothing can be displayed.

  • Inks: information about the ink configuration and the inks levels in %.
  • Heaters: temperature level of the Preheater, the Printheater and the Postheater.
  • Media: information about the media loaded on the printer.
  • Misc: complementary info about the printer (model, serial number, firmware version).
  • Refresh: button to refresh the tab.
