Workflow - Overview

The Workflow module allows you to automate several actions in a given order.

It is mainly used to automate the printing action since with the module you can print a group of files by making only two clicks (instead of dragging and dropping each file individually).

The Workflow module can also be linked to a hotfolder or a tab or with CalderaCare's SmartImport for even more automation.

Starting from Version 17.3, it is possible to classify your workflows by tags, allowing you to easily categorize projects based on relevant Workflow names and "associated tags".

How to create a print automation

  1. Drag and drop the Print module from the Image Bar in the first square of the Workflow.
  2. Double-click its icon to configure the Print module (in the Workflow editor, not in the Applications bar).
  3. Set up the printing parameters as usual (resolution, media, scale, etc.).
  4. Click the Print button to activate the module within the Workflow.
  5. Back in the editor, quit, it will save automatically.
  6. To execute your Workflow, go to the Images bar, select one (or more) image(s), and right-click to navigate to the workflow you just created. The print will be automatically triggered.

Steps to organize Workflows by tags

As of Version 17.3, you can now classify your workflows by tags:

  1. Open the workflow editor
  2. Name your workflows by clicking on the New button.
  3. Click on Edit and write the tags you want to associate with your workflows. It is also possible to put the same workflow under several tags. To do so, you have to separate the tags with a semicolon:

  4. To check what your new sorting looks like, go to the ImageBar
  5. Select an image, and right-click on it. In the list that appears, select Send To.
  6. Navigate to the workflow tags you just created:

Considerations

  • When there is a printer inside a workflow but this one is not configured yet, the icon will appear gray. Once it is correctly configured, you will see movement in the animation gears.
  • You can configure the deletion of the image after processing.
  • The Workflow Editor can be launched via the Settings menu > Workflow Editor or with the shortcut Alt-W.
