The barcode/QR code and identification number are used to identify the linked cut file and job position. The Barcode/QR code can be used by either the cutter's camera or a handheld barcode scanning device.
The Barcodes area has cutting features specific to Barcodes and QR Codes. Click the “plus cross” to display all settings:
Bar code
When this option is enabled, it prints a Barcode 39 or QR Code on each edge of the document so that the operator can feed the media regardless of the orientation of the printed graphic.
Subsequently, the operator can use a barcode scanner and this will automatically send the graphic orientation to VisualCut.
Add a frame contour around barcodes
This setting adds a cuttable frame around barcodes/QR Codes.
Identification number
When this option is enabled, it prints an identification number on each edge of the graphic so the operator can feed the media regardless of the orientation of the graphic.
Subsequently, the operator can enter the identification number into VisualCut to automatically send the cut file with the correct orientation.
No orientation in barcode
Warning
This option has been included in CalderaRIP since V15, however, it is only compatible with Zünd cutters and its drivers (ZCC, ZCC3, etc.).
If you are not using a barcode scanner or the controller's camera to know the orientation of the job, you can remove the orientation information in the barcode data to make it easier to read the job ID on your device.
Example of use
As you can see, the ID number is at the end and contains a letter indicating the location:
- T (Top)
- B (Bottom)
- L (Left)
- R (Right)
