Driver

A driver translates the user's orders into a language understandable by the peripheral. Usually, there is one driver per peripheral, but at Caldera there is a specific working.

Supported peripherals are listed on Caldera.com. At Caldera, you can find 3 types of drivers:

Print drivers

  • A print driver can drive different similar models
  • It can be duplicated to drive multiple printers of the same model but requires a token license for each physical unit driven at the same time
  • They are included in CalderaRIP installation files (but not in the light version that is stripped down for download size reasons) and the last revisions (new features, bug fixes, firmware updates) can be downloaded later :

They are categorized into:

  • Wide
  • Large
  • Grand A
  • Grand B
  • High Production

Cut drivers

  • A cut driver needs only one license that can be shared per "user"
  • They are included in CalderaRIP installation files
    • ISO for Debian
    • DMG for macOS

They are categorized into:

  • Cut Server
  • GrandCut Server

Spectrophotometers drivers

  • They are included in CalderaRIP installation files
    • ISO for Debian
    • DMG for macOS

They are not categorized.
