AutoMedia asks the printer for its Media type, which is then automatically chosen from the list. It is important to consider the type of printer you are using for an optimal use of AutoMedia.
Is my printer compatible with AutoMedia?
It is simple to determine whether your printer supports AutoMedia or not. On the Print Module main interface, check out the Media field. If you see a button with arrows ( ), this means that AutoMedia is available:

For multi-roll printers, AutoMedia selects only the first active media or first-loaded media.
If the loaded media is of a generic type and other media are also associated with this generic type, CalderaRIP will select the first media in the list linked to this type, even if another media, further down the list, might be considered more suitable.
Steps to use AutoMedia
- Go to the Print module main interface and look for the Media field. Then, click on the button with arrows ( ):
- The correct Media will be automatically selected in the list (Coated Paper in this case):
- Then you can continue to set your Print.
