Printer

  • Printer paper setting mismatch: enable or disable printer warnings. Specific warnings can be selected on the printer panel (Paper type mismatch, Job size mismatch …).
  • Driver paper setting mismatch: display driver warnings before printing. The driver will check the paper type and/or paper size currently loaded. If the loaded paper type does not match the job paper type or the loaded paper size is smaller than the job size, then the driver will print an error.
    • Type and Size: enable paper type and loaded size warning.
    • Type: enable paper type warning.
    • Size: enable paper size warning.
    • None: disable driver warnings.
  • Media cutting:
    • Always: cut the paper after printing.
    • Never: cut the paper after printing.
    • Print cutting mark: print a cutting mark after printing.
  • Cutting speed:
    • Auto: cutting speed chosen according to the loaded paper type.
    • Slow: slow cutter speed.
    • Standard: standard cutter speed.
    • Fast: fast cutter speed.
  • Feeding:
    • Auto: automatic sheet/roll selection depending on the paper type.
    • Roll auto: automatic roll selection depending on the paper type.
    • Sheet 1: print on the loaded paper sheet.
    • Roll 1: print on the first roll unit.
    • Roll 2: print on the second roll unit.
  • HDD Action (Hard Disk Drive):
    • Print: only print the job.
    • Print and store: print and store the job in the selected box number.
    • Store: only store the job in the selected box number.
  • Box number: only available when HDD Action is set to Print and store or Store. Selected box number to store the job on the printer.
  • Borderless type:
    • Default: default behavior of the printer.
    • Four sides: warns the user when the job does not fit the four sides of the loaded media.
    • Three sides: warn the user when the job does not fit three sides of the loaded media.
  • Borderless margin: this option controls the size of the pixel duplication when printing in borderless mode.
    • Zero: no pixel duplication.
    • Small: pixel duplication margin width of 1.5 mm.
    • Medium: pixel duplication margin width of 2 mm.
    • Large: pixel duplication margin width of 3 mm.
  • Use printer status: skip some driver-printer interaction. When this option is disabled the driver does not check for Job status on the printer. This means the job cannot be canceled and accounting information cannot be retrieved. But it allows continuous printing without waiting for full completion of the previous jobs. It is advised to disable this option when you want to print a large queue of jobs at the maximum printing speed of the printer.

Media

  • Information: at the top of the window, you are able to see information about your media. There you have access to two actions:
    • Save: when you click on this button, the current media settings are saved to the selected media profile (printer, media, resolution, mode) so there will be applied for any new job using the same print configuration. If you don't save, the changes you made are only applied to the current job.
    • Reload: will revert back to default as set during profiling or the last saved changes.
  • Horizontal compensation (%): we recommend not to modify this. Any deviation is likely to be mechanical on the printer's side.
  • Vertical compensation (%): this can be useful if you detect an increase or decrease in the length due to heating or media tension which is common when printing on vinyl or textiles for example. To calculate the compensation, click Compute and follow the software’s instructions.

  • Keep black: keep black for CMYK contone modes. When this option is enabled, pure black will be printed only using Matte Black, Photo black, Gray and Photo gray inks if available on the printer. When disable black can be a mix other inks depending on the internal printer color separation.
  • Generic media name: display the generic media name associated with the current selected media. Generic media names correspond to the paper name stored on the printer.
  • Generic media key: display the generic media key associated with the current selected media.
  • Contone black type: black type used for contone modes and default black type used for halftone modes. Matte and photo black mixing is not supported for halftone modes. When both black types are displayed then the default black type used, in halftone, is photo black.
    • Matte: matte black is used.
    • Photo: photo black is used.
    • Photo and Matte: Black mixing is used.
  • Black type: select photo or matte black for halftone modes. For contone modes you can not select the black type used. Auto: see contone black type. Photo: photo black is used. Matte: matte black is used.
