Then, open the corresponding tab, click Enable separation, and select the Method corresponding to your production.

Multilayer

Durst P5X printers support multilayer printing with up to five layers in a single pass (Color/White/Black/White/Color). This allows printing two images separated by a blockout layer in a single job:

To prepare and print multilayer jobs using CalderaRIP, follow the configuration and printing steps below.

  1. Open CalderaRIP.
  2. In the application bar, open the Settings tab and double-click the ServerAdmin icon.
  3. Select the printer's driver and click the "Configure..." button.
  4. Go to the Special Inks tab.
  5. Rename the spot inks to match the required multilayer order:
    • The top layer file must contain CMYK or CMYKcm with two Spot Channels (for example: "White Under" and "White Over").
    • The bottom layer file must contain CMYK or CMYKcm with no Spot colors.
  6. Click OK and then Proceed to confirm the configuration.
  7. Enter the CalderaRIP administration password when prompted.
  8. If the printer driver is running, restart it when prompted.
  9. Open the printer driver and select the required printing parameters.
  10. RIP the top layer file containing the two renamed Spot Channels (for example: "White Under" and "White Over").
  11. Prepare the bottom layer file with the same print parameters, mirror the file, and ensure it contains no Spot colors.
