Importing EpRipControl.xml

In ServerAdmin, there is a button labeled "Import EpRipControl.xml" in the Resolution tab. Using it allows you to later locate the .xml file on your printer controller. This will make all the printer "Presets" available as qualities (which are actually renamed "presets" for this driver).

Only the preset name is sent with the job in the JDF ticket; it has no other effect on the RIP. If you don't want to send a preset, select "Default" (the currently active printer preset will then be used).

Considerations

  • The controller ticket is in JDF format (does not require Nexio to submit jobs from the RIP to the controller).
  • The multi-page output format is supported without the VDP-optimized workflow, allowing for a single job directory and job ticket in the output for a PDF/VT multipage input instead of a job ticket per page. This reduces complexity on the controller.

Limitations

  • Only CONTONE mode is supported.
  • There is no support for a "variable data printing optimized workflow," meaning CalderaRIP will support multipage PDF/VT files on the input side and will RIP the background only once. However, the output for the controller will not have a background page.
