Driver history
-
CalderaRIP V18.1:
- In VisualCut > Tools Settings and Priority, the default passes for the kiss cutting and pen tools have been updated from 0 to 1. Additionally, other default settings, including speed, force, and offset, are now considered, addressing previous oversight.
-
CalderaRIP V18:
- The user experience has been improved by limiting the values of Marks Placement in the Cutter Tools Configuration. The size of horizontal or vertical marks now ranges from 10 to 50 mm, while the thickness ranges from 1 to 2 mm, thus preventing you from using values outside the limits.
-
CalderaRIP V16.3:
- Improvement of RawIP connection for big jobs.
- Fix of shifted cut paths when not using paneling.
-
CalderaRIP V16.0.2:
- It is now possible to operate these cutters using the Ethernet connection. Also, registration marks are now detected, and the cutter rotates the data accordingly.
-
CalderaRIP V15.1.1:
- Roland CAMM-1 GR2 supported.
Installation
Info
In the past, different cutting devices required separate licenses: CutServer for roll-to-roll cutters, GrandCut (A or B) for flatbed cutters, and a cut option for trimmers. This resulted in different installation methods depending on the device.
Today, annual subscribers and perpetual license holders with CalderaCare can use any CalderaRIP‑supported cutting device without an additional license.

Info
This cutter operates with CalderaRIP only through USB or Ethernet connections. The File connection option is mainly intended for exporting data to another software rather than sending jobs directly to the cutter.
Troubleshooting
Paneling Method Using the Distance Parameter
In this method, the job’s marks are not detected. Panels are instead created based on a defined panel length. Each panel is processed sequentially. If a shape overlaps two panels, it will be cut in two separate passes.
- Positioning: Select None to disable mark detection. This driver does not support barcode detection for automated roll cutting.
- Paneling above (mm): Specifies the panel length. All shapes within this distance are grouped and cut within the same panel.
