After downloading CalderaRIP, go to the "Downloads" folder.
- To start the CalderaRIP installation, double-click the DMG file, then launch the Caldera installer.
- As the Caldera installer wants to make changes to the current system, you must type the administrator password.
- A pop-up should appear at this step, informing you that XQuartz has been installed.

XQuartz is a utility that allows to run CalderaRIP on macOS. Installing XQuartz is a mandatory step. Therefore, it is done automatically when performing CalderaRIP first installation on macOS.
- To complete the installation process, you must restart the computer.
- After restarting, you can double-click the DMG file again, then launch the Caldera installer.
- Once again, you must type the administrator password.
- First, select the language for this installation. This language will also be the default language when running the software.
- With the full version, you can choose the printers you want to install at this step.
- If the printers are already visible in the local network, the Auto detect button would allow you to automatically install the corresponding driver.
- To install a printer manually, you simply browse for the manufacturer and the model, then you click Add.
With the light version, you would need to download and install drivers after CalderaRIP installation
- Next, you can repeat the process for cutters installation. Note that the auto-detect option is no longer available at this step.
- At the end, you find a summary of the current installation. You can click the thumb-up button to start the installation. It takes approximately 10 minutes to complete.
- CalderaRIP installation is now finished. Before restarting the system, you will also need to grant full disk access to some files CalderaRIP uses.
