Printer

• Check media width: a warning is shown if the media width is smaller than the printed document.

• Check media size before printing: a warning is made if the media size is smaller than the printed document.
• Display printer warnings and information: you can choose to display, or not, printer warnings directly on CalderaRIP.
• Horizontal Cutter: enable the horizontal cutter. Each job is cut horizontally when finished.
• Vertical Cutter: enable the vertical cutter, each job is cut vertically according to its size (only available if the horizontal cutter is enabled).
• Feeding:
  • Auto: this setting will automatically check and use the proper feeding possibility based on the print module loading choice. 
  • Roll auto: check the roll(s) location and automatically set the proper roll type (if available).
  • Sheet 1: force the print on the loaded paper sheet.
  • Roll 1: force the print on the first roll unit.
  • Roll 2: force the print on the second roll unit.

Advanced parameters

• Use printer status: skip some driver-printer interaction. When this option is disabled the driver does not check for the Job status on the printer. This means the job cannot be canceled and accounting information cannot be retrieved. But it allows continuous printing without waiting for the full completion of the previous jobs.

Media

• Information: at the top of the window, you are able to see information about your media. There you have access to two actions:
  • Save: when you click on this button, the current media settings are saved to the selected media profile (printer, media, resolution, mode) so there will be applied for any new job using the same print configuration. If you don't save, the changes you made are only applied to the current job.
  • Reload: will revert back to default as set during profiling or the last saved changes.
• Horizontal compensation (%): we recommend not to modify this. Any deviation is likely to be mechanical on the printer's side.
• Vertical compensation (%): this can be useful if you detect an increase or decrease in the length due to heating or media tension which is common when printing on vinyl or textiles for example. To calculate the compensation, click Compute and follow the software’s instructions.

• Generic media name: display the generic media name associated with the currently selected media. Generic media names correspond to the paper name stored on the printer.
• Generic media key: display the generic media key associated with the currently selected media.

Comments

On this tab you can see comments coming from the EasyMedia module. It can include comments from the global media window and from the profile project window.

Status

• Status: global state of the printer:
  • Ready
  • Not available
  • Printing

All data is coming from the printer, if it is not available, nothing can be displayed.

• Inks: information about the ink configuration and the inks levels in %.

• Media: information about the media loaded on the printer.

• Misc: complementary info about the printer (model, serial number, firmware version).

• Refresh: button to refresh the tab.
