How to customize the tolerance levels of media coverage?

PrimeCenter displays the media coverage percentage for each nested layout, helping operators select the most optimized layout for production and reduce media waste.

By default, media coverage tolerance levels are configured in the PrimeCenter settings, but for greater flexibility, they can also be customized at the recipe level, depending on the media.

Customizing media coverage tolerance levels

Default scale (global settings)

The default tolerance scale applies to all recipes and is configured in the Recipe default tab of the Settings menu.

  • Adjust the sliders to define your tolerance levels or enter the values directly into the fields.
  • A color-coded scale is displayed, which will be applied to all generated layouts.

Prior to V4 Starting from V4
  • Access the media coverage scale in Layout tab > Media settings section of the recipe.
  • Adjust the sliders or enter values directly to define tolerance levels.

Viewing media coverage value

Once configured, when layouts are generated, the media coverage percentage is automatically calculated and displayed in the list of generated layouts for each layout. You can:

  • Easily identify the most optimized layouts based on the color-coded scale.
  • Quickly assess which layouts have a low media coverage and can be completed with other files.

The media coverage tolerance levels defined in your recipe are also applied for the nesting. They are used to set the Minimum media coverage percentage required to initiate the nesting process.
