Printer tab
- Feed tray for sheet: Loading of sheet-type paper. Options are back load or front load.
-
Cut media: the embedded cutter will separate the job from the roll at the end of print according to the chosen following parameter:
- Off
- Cut after print
- Print line
- Cut before and after print
- Cut after print less waste
-
Hard drive use: Setting to save or not and type of use of the printer's internal hard disk. You can choose between:
- HDD less operation
- Save before print
- Save before print (leave data)
- Save and print
- Save and print (leave data)
- Print vertical line: This setting activates printing during the entire printing process.
- Use printer status: the driver will react according to the printer status: wait for the end of the previous print in order to launch a new one, check the job compatibility with the media loaded, etc.
-
Epson Precision Dot processed by printer: For EPSON Precision Dot modes,
this setting activates the screening done at the printer (which reduces the network exchanges if this type of connection is used).
-
Paper Edge Quality: setting that ensures a printing quality. You can choose between:
- Standard: printing with the 2 printheads
- Add Top Margin: printing with the 2 printheads and adding a margin at the top
- Optimize Paper Edge Quality: printing with 1 printhead
- Top margin for profiling: recommended when you create a new profile for the printer. This option adds a white margin to ensure consistent quality of printing.
Media tab
-
Information: at the top of the window, you are able to see information about your media. There you have access to two actions:
- Save: when you click on this button, the current media settings are saved to the selected media profile (printer, media, resolution, mode) so there will be applied for any new job using the same print configuration. If you don't save, the changes you made are only applied to the current job.
- Reload: will revert back to default as set during profiling or the last saved changes.
- Horizontal compensation (%): we recommend not to modify this. Any deviation is likely to be mechanical on the printer's side.
- Vertical compensation (%): this can be useful if you detect an increase or decrease in the length due to heating or media tension which is common when printing on vinyl or textiles for example. To calculate the compensation, click Compute and follow the software’s instructions.
- Reference media: select a media which must be as close as possible to the real type of media used in order to guarantee an optimal printing quality.
- Black cartridge: black forcing. You can choose between Photo black or Matte black. If you use a media which already have a reference black, it is not possible to force another black color.
- Black enhance Overcoat: Works only with EPSON Precision Dot modes. The expected effect is an increase in black density on Glossy papers, which reduces the printing speed by approximately half.
- Dry time per page (s): Drying time in seconds (between pages) therefore at the end of each copy.
-
Platen gap: Height of the print head in relation to the media. Options are:
- Default
- 2.1mm
- 1.6mm
- 1.2mm
- 1.9mm
- 2.4mm
-
Feed adjustment (%): Setting of the media feed
-
Media suction (%): Strength of the media suction
-
Feed adjustment offset (%): Fine adjustment of the media feed
-
Roll tension:
- Default
- Standard
- High
- Higher
- Media Thickness (mm): sets the media's thickness. The range goes from 0 to 1.50
Advanced parameters
- Drying time per scan (1/10 s): add a delay between each scan to allow the ink to dry a little between each pass. Type the number wanted or use the + and - buttons. Duration is measured in 1/10 second.
- Vardot level (%): Maximum amount of small and medium drops used for Halftone modes. Thus, for example, setting this value at 35% will very approximately make it possible to use 35% of small drops in a given area and if this threshold is exceeded, medium-sized drops will be introduced which will only correspond to the maximum 35% of this same area beyond which large drops will be introduced.
Caution
Note that there is a transition zone and that, the more the zone is loaded with ink, the fewer drops of smaller size. It is recommended to use this setting only in very special and problematic cases by following a trial-and-error method.
- Ink Density Factor (%): maximum level of ink allowed. Increasing this factor might increase the Gamut but it might also create over-inking issues. This value indicates the absorption capability of the medium being used, and directly impacts the output and ink usage.
Comments tab
On this tab you can see comments coming from the EasyMedia module. It can include comments from the global media window and from the profile project window.
Status tab
-
Status: global state of the printer:
- Ready
- Not available
- Printing
All data is coming from the printer, if it is not available, nothing can be displayed.
- Inks: information about the ink configuration and the inks levels in %.
- Media: information about the media loaded on the printer.
- Misc: complementary info about the printer (model, serial number, firmware version).
- Refresh: button to refresh the tab.
