Some of the ink configurations of these devices allow the use of White, Varnish, and/or Primer as Spot Inks. To configure them, you need to:
- Use the proper driver for your printer. In this example, the CMYKORPRW driver allows the use of Primer and White.
- Select the right resolution and quality to achieve the wanted effect (For example White->CMYKOrRe, to have White under colors in one shot).
- Then go to the Page Setup module:
- Open the corresponding tab, and then click on Enable separation:

Information about custom ink setups and multilayer
- Custom ink setups are chosen when installing the printer itself and cannot be changed afterward. Taking CMYKORGLW and ORGLWCMYK as an example: The installation setup allows, at the same time and in the same printout, either Colors > White and Colors > Varnish with the first driver or White > Colors with the second driver.
- Carefully check the driver name and use the correct one for your ink setup, as the layered modes will not work if a driver for another order of ink is used.
- When printing multilayer, please note that the reciprocal layering order for a given printer must be achieved with 2 jobs and media rewinding.
- Caldera and Roland have different ways of abbreviating the colors, here is the nomenclature:
- "O" and "Or" = Orange
- "R" and "Re" = Red
- "W" and "Wh" = White
- "GL" and "Gloss" = Varnish
- "PR" = Primer
