  • Cut media after print: it enables the embedded cutter and automatically cuts the job after the print.
  • Check media type before printing: a warning is made if the media type is not compatible.
  • Check media width: a warning is shown if the media width is smaller than the printed document.
  • Check Side for Dual Side Printing
  • Allow job reordering for optimized printing time:
  • Warn if linearization is needed / Display printer warning. In both cases, you can choose to display, or not, printer warnings directly on CalderaRIP. Warnings are only displayed before printing.
  • Continuous printing: jobs are done one after another without rewinding and drying time.
If activated, the status tracking is disabled to allow jobs to go fast enough on the printer. So, you won’t be able to see the job progression or ink consumption (CostProof) in the Spooler.
Also, when enabling the Continuous Printing feature, all submitted jobs are set to the maximum supported width of the printer by padding with blank colors. This will cause the carriage to move on the entire width of the printer, even if the job is smaller.
  • Enable Network latency tolerance: it deactivates the services that poll the printer to avoid network overload and printer latency.

Action buttons:

  • Prepare to print: send a message to the printer so it can make itself ready to print.
  • Wake Up printer: wakes the printer if in sleeping mode.
  • Web server: this button is available only from the Printer tab and it opens the printer’s web server page (using your web browser). Here you can find the details you already find in CalderaRIP, as well as some other information about the printer:

  • Information: at the top of the window, you are able to see information about your media. There you have access to two actions:
    • Save: when you click on this button, the current media settings are saved to the selected media profile (printer, media, resolution, mode) so there will be applied for any new job using the same print configuration. If you don't save, the changes you made are only applied to the current job.
    • Reload: will revert back to default as set during profiling or the last saved changes.
  • Horizontal compensation (%): we recommend not to modify this. Any deviation is likely to be mechanical on the printer's side.
  • Vertical compensation (%): this can be useful if you detect an increase or decrease in the length due to heating or media tension which is common when printing on vinyl or textiles for example. To calculate the compensation, click Compute and follow the software’s instructions.
