Scan width: this option allows the user to limit the movement of the printhead carriage to either the printer's full width or only the job's width. You can choose between:
- Printer: the printhead carriage scans all the printer's width
- Job: it limits the head scan over the job's width only
- Cut media: Enable or disable this function by checking or unchecking the box. The embedded cutter will trim the media in its width at the end of the printing process when the function is enabled.
-
Top blower strength. This function lets you choose between multiple blower strengths:
- Off: Do not use the blower system
- Standard: Use the standard blower strength (recommended parameter)
-
Printhead used: this function let you choose between multiple printhead parameters:
- Head 1: will use only the set of print Head 1
- Head 2: will use only the set of print Head 2
- Both heads: will use print Head 1 and print Head 2 simultaneously (recommended parameter)
Media tab
-
Information: at the top of the window, you are able to see information about your media. There you have access to two actions:
- Save: when you click on this button, the current media settings are saved to the selected media profile (printer, media, resolution, mode) so there will be applied for any new job using the same print configuration. If you don't save, the changes you made are only applied to the current job.
- Reload: will revert back to default as set during profiling or the last saved changes.
- Horizontal compensation (%): we recommend not to modify this. Any deviation is likely to be mechanical on the printer's side.
- Vertical compensation (%): this can be useful if you detect an increase or decrease in the length due to heating or media tension which is common when printing on vinyl or textiles for example. To calculate the compensation, click Compute and follow the software’s instructions.
- Dot type: this function allows the user to select either a variable dot size (Automatic) or any fixed dot size (Large, Medium or Small).
- Overprint: this performs additional passes to increase ink density. The user can define the amount of overprint layers with a factor between 1 and 2.
- Drying time per scan (1/10 s): add a delay between each scan to allow the ink to dry a little between each pass. Type the number wanted or use the + and - buttons. Duration is measured in 1/10 second.
- Absorption fan: you can select one of the following option: Off, Weak, Standard, Strong.
- Drying time (s): duration allowed to the drying after the print (in seconds).
- Heating system: The heating system can be activated or disabled using CalderaRIP. You can adjust the temperature of the Post Heater (in Celsius degrees) by clicking inside the thermometer. These can be set per Media and you can also edit/set specific heaters using the EasyMedia module.
- Feed adjust: Set the media feed adjustment level value. The value 0.00 disables this function (use the value set on the panel) but a number between -2000.00 and 2000.00 enables it (use the selected feed adjustment level). This setting is useful for avoiding light or dark lines between passes.
Comments tab
On this tab you can see comments coming from the EasyMedia module. It can include comments from the global media window and from the profile project window.
