Data migration to PrimeCenter V3 - Breaking changes

  Info

This article only concerns users who already have PrimeCenter and wish to upgrade it while keeping their configuration. New users are not concerned.

With the introduction of cut drivers, PrimeCenter V3 brings notable changes, requiring a significant data migration at the first software launch. A migration report will be provided to outline the automatic changes occurring during the migration and the manual changes you will need to make. You can export this report directly from PrimeCenter for reference.

This article lists potential changes applied to your recipes due to the upgrade.

  Recommendation

Before resuming your production, we recommend to review and test each recipe individually to ensure everything is working properly.

Another major change in PrimeCenter V3 concerns the cut drivers’ field ranges. Values set in previous versions may now be invalid if they fall outside these new ranges. If this occurs, a warning will appear under the concerned field in the recipe, prompting you to select a new, valid value. These adjustments align better with technical realities and manufacturer guidelines, helping to minimize errors.

Automatic changes

Cut mark size adjusted
The initial cut mark size is no longer available. We have retained the maximum value between the width and the height.
Rectangular marks changed to round marks
The rectangular cut mark type is no longer available for the Zund cutter. Circles have replaced it.
New cutter created or cut output folder replaced

The recipe specified a cut output folder that was different from the configuration at the cutter level:

  • If both folders were still in use, a new cutter has been created with the naming convention <cutterName>_<folder>
  • otherwise, the cutter's output folder has been replaced by the one configured at the cutter level.

because from now on a cutter can only have one output folder and you should create a cutter for each device you want to send files to.

Manual changes

Associate a cutter to the recipe
Cut marks parameters are missing: the associated cutter has been removed from the recipe.
Associate methods and contours
Missing information to associate methods and contours. You must manually associate them.
