Importing and exporting recipes allows you to transfer recipes between computers, share configurations, and create backups to prevent data loss in case of technical issues.

Importing a recipe

- Recipes are in JSON format.
- Wherever you are in PrimeCenter, you can use the Ctrl + I keyboard shortcut to import a recipe.
From the OS menu

- Go to File and click on Import recipe.
- Verify the imported recipe’s configuration before running it.
From Recipe management
- Navigate to Settings > Recipe management.
- Click the Import icon
to open the file explorer.
- Select one or several recipes to import.
- Verify the imported recipe’s configuration before running it.
From the Home page
- Go to the Home page.
- Click the arrow next to the New recipe button to open the dropdown menu.
- Select Import recipe.
- Verify the imported recipe’s configuration before running it.
Exporting a recipe

- Open the recipe you want to export.
- Go to File and click on Export recipe.
From the tabs bar
- Right-click on a recipe tab in the tabs bar at the top of the Layout Creator interface.
- Select Export from the context menu.
From Recipe management
- Navigate to Settings > Recipe management.
- Search for the recipe you want to export.
- Click the three dots next to the recipe and select Export.
Exporting recipes in bulk
- Go to Settings > Recipe management.
- Select the recipes you want to export by checking the corresponding boxes.
- Click the Export icon
to export all selected recipes at once.

Importing a recipe with an unknown cutter
With the introduction of PrimeCenter V3.0, if the cutter defined in the imported recipe has a different name than the existing cutters, you will be prompted with a dialog to select an existing cutter or proceed without selecting a cutter.
Post-import checklist
After importing a recipe, ensure to perform the following checks and updates:
- Configuring media: Check that the appropriate media is selected for the recipe.

Dictionary: Review any new cut contours and save them to the global dictionary.

From PrimeCenter V4.0, dictionaries per recipe no longer exist. There is only one global dictionary. Any new cut contours from imported recipes will be automatically added to the global dictionary (renamed Cut contours in V4.5).
- Import settings: Verify and adjust the file paths for input and file action folders.
- Input check/fix: Any check or fix highlighted in red is missing and needs to be installed. Also, update XML and PDF report file paths if necessary.
- Cutter options: if applicable, verify that a material is selected.
- Export settings: Review and adjust file paths for output, export ticket, and PDF report folders.
- Print output check/fix: Any check or fix highlighted in red is missing and needs to be installed. Also, update XML and PDF report file paths if necessary.
- Cut output check/fix: Any check or fix highlighted in red is missing and needs to be installed. Also, update XML and PDF report file paths if necessary.
