Caldera DTX RIP - Modules panel - Print

This article outlines the Print Module, which features an action button located at the bottom of the modules panel, along with a tracking area that appears during the printing process, functioning as a micro spooler.

 

Print button

Once you are satisfied with the preview result in the Studio, click the printer.svg Print button:

You can initiate multiple prints in succession, which will be queued and processed automatically.

Next to the printer.svg Print button, a dropdown menu allows you to customize the output path and file name of the print files, helping you to organize them more effectively.

 

Tracking and status (micro spooler)

The print tracking area, or micro spooler, allows you to monitor your jobs sent to print:

In each category below, starting from Caldera Direct-to-X RIP V2, the most recent jobs are displayed first.

 

The job has failed

A notification informs you that the job has failed. The job is marked as failed in the print tracking area.

 

The job is in progress

You will see the progression of your job generation in the print tracking area.

 

The job is in queue

The job is awaiting processing. The print tracking area displays the queued status, allowing you to monitor the order of jobs being processed.

 

The job is completed

A notification informs you that the job is completed. The job is marked as completed in the print tracking area.

Two files are generated:

  • A print file containing the binary data as it should be sent to the printer
  • An associated preview file (optional, configurable in Settings)

      Good to know

    When printing with file output, you can open the operating system’s file explorer in the print output directory.

The format of the generated files and the output folder are configured per printer from Settings > Devices & Presets.

 

The job is aborted

A notification informs you that the job has been aborted. The job is marked as aborted in the print tracking area.
