Activating CalderaRIP with a hardware-based license (dongle) [Versions 12 to 16]

This guide describes the process of registering your CalderaRIP software and explains how to activate the hardware/dongle-based license.

Prerequisites

• The hardware-based license or dongle (provided via mail):

  

• A 6-digit access number, which usually starts with 6xxxxx (provided via email).
• The 8-digit dongle number (provided via email).
• An activation file (see the steps below).

Registration procedure

The registration procedure can be done from any workstation with internet access.

1. To retrieve the license activation file, you must register on Caldera's WorkSpace (need help with this? Click here).
2. On WorkSpace, go to the My Registered Licenses section. You can access it via the main dashboard or by clicking on your name:
   
3.  Go to the Register a new license tab:
   
   
   
4. Fill out the Access Number field.
5. Fill out the Dongle number field.
6. Select the printer(s) to drive:
   
   For each printer, you have 7 days to make changes in the selection, in case of error.
   At least one selection is mandatory at first-time registration.
   You will be able to select other drivers later.
   
   
7. After assigning the drivers, click Continue.
8. You will be redirected to a new page where you will be able to see and download your license activation file.
9. Click on the download symbol on the right side of the license line:
   
10. A typical download location is the downloads folder in your user folder (based on your web browser's download location preference).

CalderaRIP Activation

The next step is to install the downloaded license activation file and activate your CalderaRIP.

1. Open CalderaRIP and on the splash screen, click on Activate:

   License activation is done through the CalderaDock application in recent versions. Please refer to the dedicated article if necessary.

   
   
   
2. In the pop-up that appears, click Activate new license:
   
   
   
3. Then click Load license file:
   
   
   
4. On the File selection window, browse to the download location:
   
   • Clicking on the house icon will open the User folder.
   • Clicking on the table icon will open the Desktop location
     
     
5. Select the .v2c file and click Load:
   
   
   
6. Finally, click Close to launch your CalderaRIP.
