Managing media

In PrimeCenter, you can create, duplicate, or delete media depending on your needs. Using media is optional, but it allows you to include the media name in the template of your print and cut files. This information can then be retrieved by your cutting and printing machines or third-party applications.

Associating media and materials

Manual association

  1. During media creation, select a Cutter to manually associate a material.
  2. Choose a Default material from the list.
  3. (If applicable) If the cutter has a thickness range, adjust the Default thickness.

  Good to know

A media can be associated with one material per cutter. If you have multiple cutters that require media-material associations, repeat the process for each cutter:

  • Select the first cutter, choose a material.
  • Select the second cutter, choose a material.

Automatic association

If your cut driver supports automatic material retrieval, you can synchronize media and materials.

Watch the video below for a demonstration of the automatic association process:

  1. Go to Settings > Cutters.
  2. Find a cutter that requires material information (e.g., a cutter using the ZCC cut driver).
  3. Click the three dots   next to the cutter name.
  4. Select Synchronize this cutter.

  Good to know

  • If your cut driver is not connected to the cutter, the material list will only display default materials.
  • Connect your cut driver to the cutter controller to retrieve the actual material list.

Once synchronized, go to the Media tab and select a media. You will see that it has been automatically associated with a material for the selected cutter. Manual adjustments remain possible if needed.
