- Copy the Caldera license file to your desktop, keeping the .txt.gz extension (or the .txt extension if your OS has decompressed the file).
- Open CalderaRIP. If no valid license is present, it may open in demonstration mode.
- Navigate to the Settings Tab and double-click the KeyManager icon.
- If your license file has the .txt.gz extension, click the Desktop button to import the license file into the KeyManager.
If you have a .txt file, click the "Other" button, and a file selection window will appear. Browse to the download folder to select the license file. This option will load both .txt and .txt.gz license files.
- Upon successful detection of the dongle for a hardware-based license, or host ID for a software-based license, you will see the "All keys are ok" message:
- If more than one license file is present, you will be presented with a file selection window to choose the correct license file.
- After acknowledging the "All Keys are ok" window, you can close the KeyManager:
- A window will appear asking if you want to save the license before quitting. Select Yes and enter the administrator password, which is "caldera" (all lowercase) by default:
Info
Make sure to select the password field while entering the password. Entering the wrong password or no password will result in an "aborted message".
- You will then see a window to restart the key server:
Warning
Make sure that multiple CalderaRIPs sharing one license are not in use, as this will interrupt any ripping or printing. You might need to reboot the remote Caldera RIPs to recognize the newly installed license properly:
- Close CalderaRIP using the File > Quit option or close one of the two open windows (on OSX-based installs, do not close X11):
- When starting CalderaRIP, a splash screen will display that the new license is installed.
